Twice a Week Skincare Routine

Remember my #IDoItTwiceAWeek entry for Betadine Feminine Wash? In line with that, I will share to you today how I do these things. I do this twice a week but not religiously, especially on occasions when a kid got the fever or a deadline is on due. But since it's a stormy weather outside and everyone is feeling a little cozier. I always take this opportunities to glam myself a bit and make my skin smoother! I mean, you know, it's all gray and cold outside but at least I feel fab!
This is Cure Natural Aqua Gel - Japan's No. 1 Best-Selling Skincare product - 1bottle sold every 12seconds in Japan! This is an exfoliator based not with chemicals, but water. Yes, even the most sensitive skin can use this as it is scentless and is made from the natural plant extracts of rosemary, gingko and aloe vera.
This water based cleanser is perfectly partnered with this.
Please excuse my fabulous undereye bags that reveals my worth-it sleepless nights with my bebes.
My face right after gentle scrubbing. It really delivers on removing dead skin cells and leaving skin soft and supple. After exfoliating, I wash my face with either of this Human Heart Nature, gently again.
And then, I slapped on a mask. Any facial mask will do. This time, I'd use this
Green Tea Fresh Essence Mask from Aritaum - still hot from South Korea. You can look for mask that fits your problem. Lemon for acne-prone, Aloe Vera for moisturizing and in my case Green Tea for detox. There's a huge selection of facial masks out there and it's exciting to try this and that and enjoy the benefits of having healthier skin.
Moustache galore!
No, do not rinse after mask. Just massage your face with your clean fingers to make absorption better. And since I'm frugal, I put cotton on the foil to absorb the juices left in there and wipe on my neck, elbows, knees and knuckles of my fingers and toes. Seriously.
I badly need pampering lately, since this incident is still not solved. Update here.
Next thing I'll do? Cover myself with this
No rains today. Just gusty winds, dark sky and black hole in my pocket.  On the bright side, my skin is happy and my babies are happy. BDJ Fair is postponed and I'll be posting BDJ Veterans Night hopefully today. Stay tuned.

Anew 360 White Vitalizing Cream

DSC_1075
Packaging looks neat and compact.
DSC_1077
Has cover inside aside from the outer shell for extra protection against evaporation, hence longer life of the product.
DSC_1074
Heavy glass bottle. This looks sophisticated and laid back. Not for travelling though, just for vanity. This makes me nostalgic as  I think of luxurious nights with extra  time for vanity ritual - pampering before going to bed soft and smooth all over.
Supple, translucent fairness - this luxurious night cream promises moisturized and revitalized fairer skin.
- Help skin to naturally repair itself at night by boosting cell energy with its exclusive technology making it supple and glowing
- Minimize melanin production to help prevent darkening giving skin a more translucent surface and makes skin clarity improved
imageI used this for quite a while now. It smells sugary and sweet to me and reminds me of my SkinWhite Papaya Milk lotion.  Easily absorbed by skin making it instant smooth and soft. However, in the long run, I noticed that my skin breaks out more than usual. Tiny little bumps here and there especially on the cheeks and chin became more visible. Red tiny zits pops everywhere. I'm not sure why, as this products ingredients are the same as of some of my face products too. I let it rest for a couple of days just to let the redness and little zits recede and started to try it out again. Still the same effect unfortunately. I'll try to use this on my neck area only because I don't want to waste it. I've been loving the Avon's Anew Genics that's why I'm quite disappointed about this cream. I guess this isn't just for me. Have you tried Avon's Anew 360 White Vitalizing Cream?

Garnier Pure Active Fruit Energy Energizing Facial Foam

One of the perks of being a Belle de Jour/BDJ Box bella is that you got access to what's hot and the latest in makeup and skincare products! Just last sunday, we attended the BDJ Box' 2nd Beauty Social Event: Primp and Prettify where Garnier treats us with mocktails and reveals to us their latest skincare line...

Garnier PureActive Fruit Energy

Refresh Your Old Acne Solution

That said, this PureActive Fruit Energy Energizing Facial Foam is ideal for all skin type especially best for bellas who has oily to combination skin and is acne prone. Aside from keeping skin smooth and acne free it also targets imperfections, and in the long run promises reduction of visible pores. This yummy treat from Garnier is packed with vitamin C extracted from grapefruits and pomegranates!
The fresh fragrance and squeaky clean feel without dryness invigorates the face with a fruity burst, just the right boost to start the morning!

image

The orange packaging was refreshing as well - it screams "Good Morning" or "Have a happy day"! I used to think of yellow and a bit of green when my minds thinks of Garnier and now, looking at the packaging of bright yummy color of orange with citrus fruits, this has got a good "healthy" feel to it - making you wanna reach for it! :P I also love that it is house in a tube that has just the right size of orifice. The amount of product is easily controlled hence, no wastage. A pea-size for face and neck (yup, don't forget the usually neglected but must be included during facial wash - neck) is enough.
On to the substance... It is viscous enough that you could easily squeeze it out but not too watery, so again, no wastage. It looks like whitish orange with a hint of shiny little pearls and it smells so good! Sweet scented indeed!

Overall, this refreshing sweet-scented foam has extracts to remove deep-seated dirt and oil and when used regularly reduces visible pores. So, I would definitely give extra time to massage my nose area and because that is where my pores are screaming "Hello World" maybe because I pluck those nasty whiteheads!

Physiogel Cream

I'm not used on slapping sticky lotion and viscous sunscreen, what more of moisturizers and creams? The result? Obviously, dry, irritated and snake-like skin - not a pretty sight nor a good feel to touch. Growing up makes you self-conscious... cutting my introduction short (lol) I embrace everything skincare related and I'm now open about new or not familiar skin friendly product just like Physiogel. First bump to it on a mom-baby event, so yeah that means its good for sensitive skin like baby's bum!
What I do depends on where I am going to stay. I freelance so no morning routine and night ritual - it really depends on what, when, and where. When it comes to Physiogel Cream, I put a thin-film of this on my face by gently tapping my skin yoga-face-style and the rest of it will land on my knuckles, elbows, knees and ankles.
I have a lot of these samples from various events and I'm planning to buy a full size after consuming everything on my stash!

Physiogel Cream is available for Php549.50

This cream is made for red, dehydrated and sensitive skin. No colorants, fragrances and preservatives, just natural lipids and DMS that repairs skin while moisturizing and hydrating it! It even promises to repair and moisturize skin up to 3 days! Really a must try! ;)
If you are into makeup like me, you could you this as a moisturizer and face primer in one as it gives a smooth canvass especially if you are going to stay on an air-conditioned room or in a cool weather, so I keep a sachet on my travel kit (inside a ziplock to avoid spillage). This is also safe for baby's sensitive skin. I use this for my baby's knees and elbows just after taking a bath!
Take a chance with Physiogel Cream, especially if you are stress, a smoker, loves soaps! Have a happy skin everyone!

Ever Bilena: Face Sunblock, Body Sunblock and BB Cream

Finally, I kicked myself in the butt hard enough to get me some sunblock goodies from Bello, SpectraBAN60 of Steifel and Ever Bilena. Obviously in this post Ill be sharing about the latter, its EB face and body sunblock! Local cheaper brands doesn't mean not worth trying, sometimes a gem is camouflaging in the sea of pebbles. Gee, I suck!

eee
Cut to the chase, the face and body sunblock from Ever Bilena have almost the same exact ingredients, only cyclomethicone is present on the face cream while cetearyl alcohol is included on the body cream

eee1
aside from that both products contains Vitamin E, shea butter and licorice extract that helps lighten and brighten skin.

eee2

The only downside of these are that they are not paraben free, methyl paraben and propyl paraben are included inside and it leaves white streaks on the skin if not blended well. So make sure to use small amount and just add if you feel needed, and avoid squeezing alot at once. you get the gist.

Aside from sunblock, it also helps prevent my skin from drying because of the shea butter...
I was looking for Myra-E tinted moisturizer when I saw this...

eee3

I can't believe it at first, but why not. I wanna save time hence I'm on the hunt for the 2-1 moisturizer and foundation from Myra-E, and it's always out of stock... To end my dilemma, I just pick this up and pay it on the counter. Besides, it has the same Oriental shade from my favorite drugstore liquid foundation.

Ever Bilena BB Cream comes in two packages. The pink BB Cream and the purple one. I'm opting for the pink one because it has anti aging but doubt because the shade is far of my own.

This BB Cream is a whitening, moisturizer and foundation packed in one bottle. Saves time when you are on the move. And I think this is good for everyday use. :) Perfect matched with my Nichido Final Powder!
In the end, i just wish I picked up the pink one because im really not into whitening and would rather give my skin some anti ageing love.

Should I get the pink tube too?

ELF Stipple Brush

My dad wants to treat us; Beth and I a clothes and make up shopping spree as a way to give us a token before he go abroad for a short business trip! After our eyes popped out with mouths hanging, we run like there’s no tomorrow and attacked the stalls and makeup shelves! :P I got myself a gray cardigan, some hanes sando shirts (because I learned from Kandee a too many ways of using sando shirts! Thanks Kandee J.!), a not-so-short Freego shorts and many others that I might talked about on another post!

Back to this post, I am planning to buy a stippling brush ever since I learned that it could create a flawless airbrush effect! I’m actually eyeing Etude House’s, the one with cute packaging but then decided later on to go for this ELF stippling brush this time because in comparison, the handle is much longer and the bristles are more fluffier for almost the same price of more or less than Php500.00.

This is not my first Elf make up brush; I already have the angled bronzing brush and an eyeshadow brush that I both got two years ago. I’m still using the bronzing brush to contour my face with Elf Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder in Warm Tan and the eyeshadow brush for patting two different shadows using its two faces.

elfs2
elfs1

I love that the handle is long enough, adequate to hold the brush hence have the 'stippling' motion better...

elfs
As you can see, this brush has two layers of bristles, the black and white, black being the short and the latter as long. Perfect to pick two layers of products to disperse on skin for ultimate control and preferred finish either as sheer or work your way up for heavy/full coverage. The brush should be dab on a stippling motion for concentrated color or blend in all over for smooth coverage.

This Stippling brush however can be use as a blush brush as well, for natural looking cheeks and as a highlight brush but since I’m aiming to have an airbrushed look, I use this when applying BB creams, mixture of moisturizer and sunblock, and liquid foundations too.  It can be used either dry or wet without bleeding and so far there are no stray hairs although at first, it smells like plastic, being synthetic.

P.S. it’s so good to know that buying ELF products means helping a charity, and they don’t test on animals.  Yay!

What ELF brushes do you own?

xoxo,

Gerilen Elinessete

E.L.F. Cream Eyeliner

I took up cosmetology as a TLE subject when I was in highschool, and eversince I learned how glamorous looks could be when eyeliners are on, I never ran out of pencil liners in different shades and sometimes when I feel like it, I use liquid eyeliners as well, brown and black are my staples and sometimes I have blue and green shades with glimmers too. I don't use cream liners and I wanna venture on one so I bought this

ELF Cream Eyeliner in Black
