Like I said I’m having a frantic schedule lately... What? I’m just juggling my newborn, work and household chores! D: And, did I mention that we are moving out? Yes you read that right! We’re currently on the process of packing our things because we’ll be moving back from Baguio to Makati for good. That's the reason why I'm MIA and super thankful for my android! :D
We already cut our internet connection hence I’m typing and editing this post in a net cafe. :3 I have way too much things on my hand right now, I’m actually starting to panic! Thing is, I originally planned to end this giveaway at the end of the month but it’s impossible for me to check my blog and emails lately, what more on checking the entries, right? I don’t wanna make haste on choosing the winner because I have to personally check if she/he is legitimate by following the mandatory rules just to be fair for those who did it right. Consequently, I decided to just end this giveaway on 6th of January that’s a Sunday and announce the winner on January 7. Winner has 3 days to claim the prizes to be shipped on January 11 and that’s a Friday. J I hope everything is clear enough. If you have more questions about the giveaway, just email me at gerilent @ gmail dot com.

To Fly...

I dreamt once about entering Paradise,
and before I enter the golden gates,
I have to choose whether to have fins and be able to swim the entire ocean
or to have wings to fly the vast sky...
I love the sea and it's seashore, but I just can't deny my longing to fly.
To fly high above the mountains, to fly and follow the rainbow...
Gotten the chance to ride an aeroplane, I asked the stewardess to put me in a seat beside the window...
I took several photos, of clouds, of the aeroplane's wings...
I even observe how the little panels of the aeroplane's wings are manipulated...
To go higher, steady, round about and land.
If I could fly, I would land on all isles and islets...
Visit all the countries, high and low.
What will you choose? A fin to swim or wings to fly?

BC Blogger Meme: Quotes to Live By

I have a lot of quotes and aside from my favorite:
♥ immortality: Plant a tree, write a book, have a son.

Here are some of my latest quotes that I love...

Always count your blessings not your mischief.

Better to bite your tongue than say a poisonous word.

Pray. Pray. and Pray.

All through out one's journey, its thyself that will act and will be affected.

Remembering The 9/11 Attack...

This was the most cruel terrorism attack 'till this day. And there was this time that I got obsessed about it that I research everything that happen on that day, of different views, and of different opinions.

Like from the calls of the flight attendants to their loved ones. How they were so calm while telling that their plane is hijacked and that they love them so much. How one plane crashed to the building and people thought it was an accident. How another plane crashed to the next building and people realize it was not an accident but an intended plot of murder. How people working from the trapped top floors where calling for help for the 911 rescue. How the telephone operators tried their best to keep the callers company, make them calm, that help is on the way.

How one caller talked to the operator until the building collapse. I remember him, yes, it was Kevin Cosgrove. And I still think about him. How he said that his wife just rang her to come home because she saw in the news that the other building was on fire because a plane crashed in it. How the brave rescuers jog the stairways just to help the trapped people in the buildings. How it is so hot that people decided to just jump off the building...

This guy is an engineer, working on the upper floor. It is not really sure whether he fell or jumped...
Although the picture depicts that he fell, a video was taken and he is not free falling, he is relentlessly jerking his arms and legs, an indication he did not want to die. But then again, there are those who jumped.

How people are so horrified that all they did was scream and cry for help. How the buildings collapsed one after the other. How, after the buildings collapse people still tried to help one another while looking as white or grey as the pulverized buildings showered on everyone. I cried while watching the films and heard the cries and I thought and wished that it's just a movie, for it, was like a movie after all. It's so surreal to be true.
It gave me nightmares, and up until now I am horrified. How can we get justice for the deaths of those innocent lives? What I do now is just focus on the heroic actions of the rescuers, policemen, firemen and strangers. It was remarkable to help strangers at your own cost. New York now has a scar. And it will remain forever.

Oli’s Uncommon Cents by Deborah Allen

I received an email a month back from mum-writes notifying me that I won her giveaway! :) Just so you know, the contest is to give names for five different coins; dime, nickel, quarter, penny and a dollar.
My coins if ever shall have the names:
1 - baboosh
2 - yunnie
3 - vee
4 - moon
5 - artemis
The author herself and mum-writes chose the three winners and obviously, Im one of them! Yay! Several weeks later, I finally received my prize!
Oli's Uncommon Cents by Deborah Allen :D
Since it is sent by the author herself,
my book has her autograph on!
Started reading the book
the minute I opened the package! :)
I could read this up on one sitting but since I'm babysitting, I decided to take it slow, digest every pages in and so I ended up finishing the book after three days.
The book as you can see is thin enough, just enough for youngsters to enjoy. The way the story was told is very simple and clear. I learned and been reminded a lot of lifetime lessons and morals like love, trust and respect.. This is a refreshing book for me since there is no wicked witches doing evil things in a horrid place. And by this I realize that it is more children-friendly than any dark themed books because, you'll learn from them too but sometimes they learn the wrong things, like vengeance and angry and violence.
Deborah Allen is a children book author. Buy, Oli's Uncommon Cents, directly from the author. $8.00 plus $2.50 shipping and handling and know more about her by visiting her blog: www.readandwrite4kids.blogspot.com

For Neil by Neil Slorance

I know it's been awhile but it's better to be late than never...
and I wanna share this tribute:
I've learned him from the books and in school, that he is the first man to land the moon. And he is actually the one behind my one of the things I wanna do: write my name in the sands of the moon.

Superfoods and Your Health! :)

Saw these posts on a social networking site and I just felt that I had to share them up!
I'll definitely add lemon water on my diet since it's in! Avocado is one of my favorite fruit and we drink coconut every now and then. I just have to give way and work something out for the ginger cause I'm not fond of chewing it though my dad loves to make it as a candy although soups are good with ginger on it. :)
Do you have any other superfood you wanna share?
and what are your ginger recipe? Please share them up! :P
