NOTD: Revlon Colorstay

The agony of thinking of hues and gradients that could've matched my outfit or is cute while holding my dear cup of coffee is real. I would've just get on with a nail art sticker or a set of false nails - but of course, to feel that sense of vow(?) and just by being dramatic, I turn down every possibility. Just cleaning (more like pushing) of cuticles, some nips (either by salon or by my hubby) here and there (I opted for shorter nails to avoid scraping down my belly when it's itchy #TMI!) and I'm done! But not anymore!
After more than a year, I finally got my nails painted again! Painted. Again! What a relief!
Okay, lemme tell you first (if you haven't got a clue already) that I refuse myself from getting any nail colors/polishes for the past year because of my pledge to my then unborn and now baby, Dave. It is more like a self-preference during my pregnancy all for my way of giving the best to my baby.
Moving on, here are the colors that I used:
Rose Beige and Mocha
I actually got these a couple of months back from a BDJ Box Soiree event.
The nail accents are inspired by a long-time Instagram friend (@Irinagnatiuk) and I just got to share this mommy milestone before my nails chip-off (take note that I skip using base and top coat) because I was hurrying things up. I hurry things on a daily grind.
When did this miracle happen? After eating out on a food court while the two boys are sleeping and we are waiting for a client to show up! Yes I keep bottles of polishes on my to-go bag (for touch ups too!) Pak! I take that as one of my super mommy power!
These colours look nice in a short or long nails. The gradient of the color is also dependent on how much you apply.
These polishes are created for corporate  girls who wants to rock/show their girly girl side in the office without overdoing it. Good job Revlon! Good job!

ELIZABETH: FOTD Simple Glamour

First, I applied my Sunblock which is Ocean Potion, an anti-aging skin fortified with Vitamin D with SPF 30. I applied my moisturizer which is 100% Natural Day Moisturizer from Human Heart Nature with 15 vitamins and minerals then my Primer from Revlon, and after that I applied my Whipped Creme Foundation from Max Factor. I also apply concealer from Revlon under my eye to cover my eyebags and set my foundation using Ellena Mineral Powder.

For my eyebrows, I used my IN2IT eyebrow palette which has 3 shades (light brown, brown and black). The liquid eyeliner and lash curler I used are from Aido and my false lashes are from Everbilena named Eunice.

For my lipstick, I used Apple brand in Twinkle shade underneath my Simply Pretty balm from Avon. ;)

ELIZABETH: Prenup Makeup (When You Want to Look Fresh Under The Sun)

This post is all about the things I did to make our prenup shoot fun, amazing and awesome! :D
Note that this post is not about bragging but it's about having your dream "prenup" come true without hurting your pocket, or your fiance's pocket for that matter. hehe

About me: I pamper myself the day he asked for my hand in marriage. (So, I could flash my best smile on the big day) aside from that I'm proud to say that I didn't hire anyone for my hair and makeup. Youtube is your bff and google is your sister! Aside from having a sweet fiance, I'm lucky to be blessed to have a girly girl for a mother-in-law (which is a plus if you're doing your own makeup!). She (my then future mom-in-law) helped me straighten my rebonded hair and on choosing the right kind of falsies and the rest was on me. I put my makeup on!

The sun is scorching hot and my secrets?
-Keep it light. You have to look like yourself - the best version of you. Highlight the assets and hide the flaws.
-Primer. Myra E Sunblock. Revlon Primer. Ever Bilena BB Cream and Maybelline Oil Control Powder. Yes, you don't have to buy the most expensive to be your best, you just gotta go and find your HG (holy grail - the product that works best with your skin). If you are doing DIYs, maximize what you have and since you're aiming to be just you, why not use product you use everyday? ;)
-Be yourself. Smile. Not the fake smile that's holding your stomach in or sucking your double chin in smile, smile your genuine smile. Smile like there's no camera following you around and flirt! Flirt because you have all the right! This is where you should do the PDA master's degree level! Hahaha

Other products:

Eyebrows: In2It eyebrow palette
Lips: Simply Pretty balm, NYX lipliner and ELF lipstick in pink
Cheeks: Careline blush in pink

See my nails? No, I didn't let anyone touch my nails, it's pure DIY baby. Stay around to find out how!

Live, Love, Laugh,
Beth

ELIZABETH: REVLON NAIL ART SHINY MATTE in Leather and Lace

REVLON NAIL ART SHINY MATTE NAIL ENAMEL
in Leather and Lace

First, apply the black matte...
I could just leave it as is, because it IS beautiful by itself but of course

I had to apply the silver Lace for the tip just because I want to have a more prominent-looking matte nails and get everyone staring at it, lol Kidding aside, it's very easy to apply because, it [the Lace] has a thin brush [really made for art-ing nails]!

Home-pampered nails! <3

and we're done! ;)
This is my french tip version of Revlon's Leather an Lace. Of course, you could do more and get wild with it. You could also make a highlight nail by just putting the silver color Lace as a tip or a nail art like criss-cross pattern or dots.

Simple yet elegant.

These nails are work-appropriate, so you could still express the girlishness in you without over-doing it!
;D

BDJ Box Beauty Soiree: Revlon Power Nails Party

Nail arts are girly, admit it. And as much as I would love to wear my girly personality ('yknow like falsies, smokey eyes aaand nail arts) at work especially in the field (construction sites), it always felt like inappropriate and err, awkward?
BDJ Box: "Guess what little miss engineer, there are work-appropriate nail art techniques!"
Gerilen: "What?"
Yes! BDJ Box and Revlon cooked up series of beauty soirees about girl's love for nail arts! Lucky enough, I got invited on it's second nail party pertaining techniques to have that work-appropriate nail arts!
Hosted by BDJ BOX Beauty Minister Nicole Romero, introducing BDJ Box Beauty Soiree Power Nails: 2nd part of the Revlon Nail Party Series!

Prize From Earthlingorgeous' Midyear Giveaway!

I'm one of the silent readers of Ms. Earth's blog and she's one of those I unread after reading in my inbox aside from these blogs I regularly read - Hi Ms. Tara of The Chronicles of Vanity!. #youknowwhatthatmeans I always join her giveaways and fortunately won her latest as seen on the blog title of this post. What we did was just put our name, age and location and she randomly chose a winner. <3 I won everything on the photo below

egSo excited about the Flyshade's wayfarer and this nude lipstick from Maybelline!
IMG_07272013_144417This is colorsensational 275 in crazy coffee and yes I blog mobile (here I use My/Phone A818 duo) which brings me to buying this blog-friendly but cheap phone! So can't wait to use it! :P

Another thing I got was this Maybelline MasterLiner in BR-1 It's a reddish-brown eyeliner that could build up and intensify perfect for soft everyday neutral eyes, smoked or not. :) Has a creamy texture that wouldn't drag the skin because it glides well. It's not that long and is kind of hard to remove using wetwipes alone because its smudge proof and resistant to water but a regular makeup remover will do. No need to sharpen because you just twist the handle to protrude product but has a tendency to break if it's too long or if the pressure is too high.

Thank you so much Ms. Earth! xx

First BDJ BOX Beauty Social

Welcome back from a looong extended vacation! I was supposed to post this before the holiday, but what the heck - accident do happen - long story short, we're back and I'll try to burn the keyboard and publish several posts right before I start designing again. *crossing fingers. :)

As a breastfeeding mom, I hesitated to join this event, thinking I can’t handle babe while strolling around, he might cry - or worse poop (now could i handle that, ey?) and people enjoying the event might get irritated. But a day before the deadline, the girly girl in me gave in! :P With a little help and push from my girly girl family as well, they promised to help carry babe around and my hubby has a project site inspection -  in Tondo, Manila – and volunteered to drop us at Mall of Asia on his way. So, through that arrangement, I pre-register all of us! :P

This is the first BDJ Box Social Event and I am excited on what is in store, for sure it will be a fun-filled event just like the past belle de jour events I've attended like -
If you wanna see more about my Belle de Jour events and reviews click here.

We arrived before 1pm, fortunately its babe's siesta time after nursing. We put him in his stroller and secure him first before entering the atrium - just in time for our reserved talk with the Beauty Ministry! :P

I am so thankful that the event was held inside the mall given that my babe is sleeping, I won't worry about him sweating his back. :)
