Food Trip: Taho Boy

Taho reminds me of my childhood. I used to run out of our house in Comembo whenever I hear Manong Taho's shouts echoing along our street. It reminds me of beautiful hot mornings, full of promises and sweats and sweets and play outdoors.

Taho reminds me of my recent pregnancy. I used to shout back "dito! (here!)" and open the door to Mang Jason, our suki with my humongous cups for our original and sometimes strawberry flavored tahos. It reminds me of movie marathons, fog and rain, and hot gossips and whatnots during my stay in San Antonio.

Its been a year since my last cup and one recent afternoon, I crave for one. Called Papa and he returned with not just one but two tumblers of hot taho! :) can you imagine my excitement? I feel nostalgic and it seems like a déjà vu.

These cups are not the typical original arnibal or strawberry flavored tahos, these are high-end, these are almond flavored!

It's quite different to the taste as I'm not used on bland flavors of nuts in my cup - I'm used to rich sugary sweet - and of course, it's a good change. A good change I may say, as it's the healthier choice compare to chocolate or buko pandan, and it helps me realise that I'm doing a fitter choice when it comes to food.

Food Trip: Gourmet Metro

There are nights when were just too tired of eating dinner on dinner that we decided to get a breakfast meal to end the night. Here at Gourmet Metro, we finally did it. Breakfast served all day!

Aside from the series of silog

we also tried this

served straight from its packaging, the sliced beef is ready to eat, no need to cook! Yum! Real extraordinary way to end the night in a beefy peppery note. :)

Food Trip: Farroncino Cafe

Starbucks is so overrated. I would prefer Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf any time of the day if only it is a step away. Unfortunately, it is not. So, aside from queuing a line (which is long sometimes), I also had the need to look and even wait for an available seat (preferably a table with a socket nearby) every time I set foot to SB. Not until, this cafe opened up...

Farronccino Cafe - too many r's and c's but its worth it.

Sorry for the dim photos, it's pretty dim here actually dim there. The lights are too soft and low, perfect for dark secrets but not for bookies and laptop users since they don't have sockets but you won't really care especially if you are looking for SB dupes! Yes, the drinks they offer tastes like SB and CBTL without the tag and logo...

Sorry for the messy table, and incase you're wondering what the heck does a congee lying around our table - well, surprise! its near Owlisms and I had to give babe something to eat since I can't share my "Drink" with him, right?

Okay, I did let him sip, just so he would know the taste, and yes, he liked it! :)

Food Trip: Yogurthy Yogurt Healthy

Yogurts - glad to have this healthy option easier to access. There are a lot of small yogurt stands here and there and everywhere, now you could have your fix done in a minute or two... unless the queue is long which is the case sometimes.
One of our latest favorite yogurt stand is the Yogurthy Yogurt Healthy! <3
One of the good reason why is because its location is the coldest part of the mall - the new wing. They serve waffles and hot drinks too. The best part is, you could choose which toppings would you get - from fruits to different kinds of nuts to delectable sweet treats!

According to them, we heart yogurt because its...

-good for your health and its a good exchange when your on a diet and craving for ice cream!

It's the perfect spot for chikahan and catching up with friends or if you just want to read and hang loose. They also have healthy lifestyle magazines which you could borrow. I one time read the benefits of eating yogurt while having one. It makes me appreciate every scoop of this yummy goodness! The crews are sweet and the price is just right! :)

it's a perfectly cooked sunnyside up and its made by my hubby. Especially made for me. I prefer the wet scrambled egg though and he insist it taste better when toasted. Perfect with tomato catsup! #immaketchupgurl
