Empties October 2013

Hello November aka birth month! As I prepare myself to embrace my soon to be 26years of existence I am balancing work, baby and home. Including to home duties are my bids of adieu to my October empties to make way for new and exciting products to try such as Yves Roches, Clinique, Kiehls and many more! Now, who made it to my October 2013 list?

Human Heart Nature Sunflower Beauty Oil - all about the oh-so-good sunflower, click here.
Hype Body Spray in Vamp - Nostalgic, this body spray reminds me of my college days. Walking on Harisson Road late at night because our chemistry class ends at 9pm. Running up and down the streets of Hillside early morning while avoiding dogs on the loose, catching my breath and wishful thinking for a waiting jeep so I wouldn't have to wait an extra 15minutes or so, or else it would mean being late on my Surveying class, which means I either have to look for my group on Burnham Park or enter the back door and sneak my way to a vacant seat without noticing which is better than to completely diss my class and hope, that no pop quiz or the field experiment is not yet through or else I'm dead. This reminds me of picnic square's stone table with chessboards and rough seats, Athletic Bowls dirt paths, of my walks with friends on the busy and noisy session road while licking selecta ice cream while discussing our frustrations either on our demanding instructors and the formulas we have to sing and dance to the finale. This scent reminds me of governor pack road and its street food which means merienda for some and lunch for other students, of Maharlika's single escalator (which is the oldest escalator in Baguio, btw), of Abanao Square, SM Baguio's Shakeys nights and most of all, this reminds me of monthsarry dates with my boyfriend-then husband-and-father-of-my-child-now.
Physiogel Intensive Cream - read about my self-made-and-impose challenge and result here.
Splash Control Hair Polish Hairdressing Cream - not that bad, I just wish it smelled a little better - I mean smelled good.
SpectraBan - wicked SPF60 here.
Sweet Honesty Body Talc Powder - feminine, mild, classic.
Body Recipe Skin Lightening Hand and Body Lotion in Papaya - thanks to the peachy pink sisters for letting me try this yummy lotion, here.
Etude House Oh M'Eye Lash in curling and clean - all about this Korean mascara here.

That's it. See you on my November empties. I am happy to say I'm half way through some of my old stocks here in my vanity. Empties posts is a breather, I tell you, especially if you don't have that much of space to put things you love to hoard! ;)

Shiseido MakeUp Session with BlessMyBag - What We Learned

It is not a whole week workshop or a month seminar, it is just an afternoon (2hours) of makeup demonstrated in front of us while giving makeup tips and tricks and as a makeup newbie and enthusiast, I learned a lot!

DSC_1143

Cutting the chase, I'll share to you the mental notes I had during our Shiseido MAkeup Class with Ms. Julia of BlessMyBag when you're doing make up!

1)if you want to contour your nose during daytime, skip the "shadow" and focus on the highlight; that way you'll avoid looking like dirty mess. Of course you should blend the edges gently.

2)when choosing foundation, try to get the color close to your pulse; where you put your perfume to last - so you'll match your face to the color of your neck rather than the other way around, less foundation stain on the collar of your blouse or uniform ;)

3)liquid to liquid, powder to powder- to avoid blotches on the cheeks -liquid foundation to cream blush, powder foundation to baked blush. Breaking this rule is easy, just make sure to set your liquid foundation with powder first before applying powder blush.

4)Eyebrows can make the difference! Fill in the brows to make a person look younger and thin lines gives the opposite effect.

5)Another tip about doing the brows is - if you want your eyebrows to last longer, use an eyebrow pencil instead of powder.

6)If you are having a hard time with eyeliner on your tear ducts or you just don't want to deal with that nasty morning-glory-like in your eyes in the color of your eyeliner then end the line just before your tear ducts. Bonus - since you'll not have black liner in your inner corners, it'll pop your eyes = fresh looking! :)

Prize Mail from PeachyPinkSisters

Hey everyone! For sure you remember this fab giveaway:

First off, I wanna thank each and everyone who voted for me. :) Like I posted before on  my Facebook page, although I didn't get the most liked, I got the most amusing graduation moment! :D

Here's a quote from their giveaway winners post:

Before we name the winner, we would like to thank everyone who shared their memorable moments during their graduation with us. It was really fun reading your posts. Some were funny, some were admirable and some were very sweet. :)To view all the entries, click here.

So on to the winner...She is............

GERILEN ELINESSETE

We found her answer quite funny and commendable! She graduated as salutatorian but even with such high honors and representing a batch for a graduation pledge, there are still these little small annoying things that can happen during those special moments. Good thing she made it with poise and elegance! Good job, Gerilen! :)
and here's her answer:
"my most memorable graduation would be in HS. Im happy I managed to have social life (barkada) while being one on the top. Finally, i ended up as the school salutatorian. I was assign to do the graduation pledge. while on stage, my stilleto heels got stuck on the floormats holes and i was pulling them out *pasimple* while stating the pledge. heehee thankfully, as i ended up my speech, i pulled the heels without stumbling and uber slowly walk to take my seat!"
Congratulations! :)♥♥♥

I still keep the historical stilleto heels in my closet! :P

And I still believe my highschool days are the best part of my student life! Gahhh... I miss studying! Good thing to know that learning don't end when you graduate 'cause its a never-ending process! :) Moving on...

Early this morning, I received the prize mail containing the 3rd prize! :D

Satchet of Garnier Multi-Action Whitening Cream
L'Oreal Youth Code pre-essence sample
Body Recipe Skin Lightening Lotion
Sephora Girls Lipgloss
Pond's White Beauty Day Cream Sachet

plus, a personal note:

Really had fun joining this giveaway! Made me reminisce my student life :P *sniff!
Yeah, I miss schooling but I'm happy that I progress and grateful that my efforts (sunog -kilay) paid off!
Thanks again Ms. Dawn & Ms. Liz of Peachy Pink Sisters!
