ELIZABETH: Picnic Themed Prenup (What to Bring?)

First of, you gotta think of a theme. This post is about all the things you gotta bring when, like me, you finally decided to do it outdoors - picnic, garden, park, whatever you call it. I decided to do it outdoor because I want to use natural light - the sun. Not the fake lights inside an air-conditioned no-sweat studio- where's the fun in that?

Mind you, this location aside from the A-mazing natural light means (these are the cons) we have to deal with the perfect weather, we needed to come back because the first time we've been here, it's drizzling. The picture below which is the second time - was scorching hot! Slap on that sunblock, honey!

Can you imagine myself smiling while inside I'm squirming because my dress' is too thick, lacey-itchy and sticks to my skin? No problemo, I used  Dove Underarm roll on, my sweat smells divine!

Tip: Under that wedding dress is my Converse. Do not attempt to run in heels when you're on hills. (hey, it rhymes!)
Another tip: This converse also walked down the stairs.
If you choose to add stairs on your red carpet moment, Converse is your comfort.

The grass is so deliciously green and the soil, well, yeah, some went under our toenails but no matter, I painted it anyways. So yeah, there's the cons and pros. I just state it here because I still choose to step on soil and get a little sweaty and a little dirty and have awesome photos and not complain about it because I know what to expect. So choose your location and theme wisely, brides. :)

This is one of my DIY props! hehe :)
-1 balloon stick snapped in two to make my cartonlina-art stand. Letterings here are made of good 'ole crayola and pentel pens lying on my desk somewhere...

This is also my DIY props, our most awaited date!
straws + cartolina + creativity = Art, personalized art that is. :)

And this are the props that we brought:
picnic mat
Teddy bear- 4th anniversary gift from my hubby when we're still bf and gf
basket
picnic basket
guitar
flowers
tea cup
my handbag from kimbel
sparkle wine and champagne
wine glass
chocolate pie
apple and orange fruit
french bread
plate (2 sets)
spoon, fork and knife (2 sets)

Improvements on Rose Garden

Despite of things I need to do and projects nearing deadlines, I try to squeeze some light exercise on my schedule and one of them is to stroll around different parks that Baguio City can offer! :D

A simple walk and soak under the sun is enough to help improve both the health of moms-to-be like me and little bean. I'm so trying my best to lessen the unavoidable effects of Beriberi/Edema and leg cramps by walkathon and stretching, while sun bathing for a couple of minutes early in the morning helps in absorbing Vitamin D.

One of my favorite places to go is the Rose Garden. The improving Rose Garden (yes, just like Bayan Park, its under renovation) is one of the perfect place to be! It's in the heart of the city, one jeepney away from Aurora Hill, beside Burnham Park and across Melvin Jones, 5minutes from Session Road and 15minutes walk to SM Baguio! :D

Here are some pictures we took while strolling around:
Rose Garden Entrance at night
Rose Garden Landscape

Different flowers cultivated in this garden:
The place is so colorful! With different flowers comes different butterflies that makes the park more alive! :D More landscapes!!!
Oh look! A real lemon!
I also noticed that the drainage system of this park also improved!
wider and safer space for strolling around
new drainage system, easy to clean and maintain
Well, I think Rose Garden is perfect for family picnic, its wide so even kids on strollers can have fun! :D This place is also perfect for nature lovers and camwhores! lol
Also, check out the new and improving BayanPark, Baguio City!

Wright Park

One of the most visited places here in Baguio City is this western-countryside themed park, where rodeos are Igorots wearing pointed boots and cowboy hats! :D
"And God took a handful of southerly wind, Blew his breath over it and created the horse..."
We drop by this place after visiting Minesview Park and The Mansion. By commuting, you could ride a jeepney from town to Minesview Park, drop by The Mansion and walk your way down here.
the long stairways connecting Wright Park and The Mansion
view from the top
Wright Park now have a wide parking space for private vehicles without the parking fee! :D As you can see, there's a wide variety of multicolored horses to choose from! :D
the horses are cute but the coral smells!
These horses could take you from
rounding this field to destinations like
Minesview Park - 1 hour
Angel Park - 1 hour
Country Club Trail - 1 1/2 hour
Marlboro County - 2 hours
Japanese Trail - 3 hours
Loakan Airport - 3 hours
Crystal Cave - 3 hours
Green Valley - 3 to 4 hours
Mount Sto. Tomas - 4 to 5 hours
in riding rates of
Php 300/hour
Php 200/half hour
Php 300/guide to outing places
If you're on a tight budget, fret not, 'cause for only Php10 you could take pictures of yourself
riding a horse,
riding a horse cab, or wearing Igorot costumes
Seeing the horses neighing is good enough for me as I can't push my luck riding like a cowboy with a humongous tummy! But I do hope this post gives you a head start on what you you could do if your planning to go visit this place any time soon! :D

Minesview Park

I felt sad when I heard the news that Minesview Park was burned, the statues of Igorots carrying wild games were turned to coal... On the other hand, it is a good thing that they restore the place as early as possible, they did a bit of renovation in the place including the entrance where huge statues used to welcome tourists

new entrance

On our way to the overlook, we pass these stores
cacti and small plants stalls
Souvenir Items
latest souvenir design :D
Baguio Delicacies and Sweets
Costume Wearing Booths - Php10 per person
:P
picture with the horse
and even picture with a dog for Php10, we saw atleast 3 huge Beethoven ready for picture-taking
a wishing well
overlooking Minesview Park

They are now offering binoculars for rent. Clouds shadowing some part of the land, while fog sometimes cover the view. I just noticed that the trees are thinning while houses are popping like mushroom... Good thing, they are trying to keep the place clean of thrash.
