CHIC Synthetic Kabuki Set

Bought 3 sets of Chic Cosmetics 5piece kabuki brush set a looooong time ago! One for me, one for my unica sister and one for our reader... #hint
The brushes comes with a black sack pouch and bubble wrap. Each brushes have a plastic guard that is (super) intact its hard to remove (so carefully push the brush out if you want to keep the brush guard, otherwise, tugging it might tear the sides).
chic
I decided to put spongebob stickies on my set, just to avoid confusion with my sister's set or better yet, to personalized my babies! :P
For the fun of it, this is the clearer 5-pc set looks like...
This set includes:
Flat Kabuki Brush --- Ideal for applying liquid or cream products to the face. It can also be used to apply your face primers.
Round Kabuki-- Ideal for applying mineral or liquid foundation especially onto round areas of the face (under the eyes, around the nose, around the mouth, neck area)
Angled Kabuki-- It can be used for buffing cream blush or for highlighting and contouring .
Tapered Kabuki--Perfect for applying cream and liquid foundations onto the harder to reach contours of the face. This brush can also be used for contouring defined areas of the face.
Flat Angled Kabuki-- This brush works very well in applying product to the cheekbones and the nose area.

Here are the photos I took using my spongebobbed-kabukis!

Almost of the same height (just 2-3mm difference in height),

please forgive the dirty Sigma brush :P
hair brush texture/feel is also the same, although when squeeze gently, F80 is more dense,

and same jumbo handles.
So far, I think Chic Cosmetic brushes are the dupes of Sigma brushes in the Philippines!
Have you tried any of Chic Cosmetics kabuki yet?
Are you ready for a giveaway? :)

My Sigma Beauty Wishlist

Sigma Beauty is one of my favorite online shop for make up products! One of my all time favorite is my flat top synthetic kabuki f80, and now I'm contemplating what to buy and I end up making a simple wishlist! Simple because I'm not a professional make up artist hence, what's on my list would be the things that I think I'll fully use personally.

Here's my wishlist!

Bare Palette - $35.00
The Bare Eye Shadow Palette includes eight eye shadow shades represented by neutral and wearable tones such as taupe, brown, bronze and black, perfect to create both classic and everyday neutral looks. Use this palette to highlight inner corners of the eyes, emphasize the crease, enhance the brow bone and define the lash line. Contains matte, satin and shimmer formulations.

Includes a dual-ended brush:

E30 - Pencil: Soften pencil liners along the top and bottom lash lines, add shadow to line the eyes, or use to highlight inner corner of eyes.
E25 - Blending: Blend colors together onto the lid with added control. Buff out harsh lines for a well blended effect. (from SigmaBeauty.com)
SigmaBeauty actually offers three palettes, the other two are the Dare and Flare palettes, but I decided to get the  Bare palette because it closely resembles Urban Decay's Naked palette. Plus, I love the fact that it includes a dual ended brush! :D But, if you already have the Naked palette I suggest you invest first on the other two Sigma Beauty palettes.

Individual Brush: Eye Shading E55 - $9.00

Unique Feature: Soft and dense bristles
Function: Even application of color
Recommended Use: Place color across the entire lid for an even and strong application of product. (from SigmaBeauty.com)
I think I need to invest more on these kinds of brushes, since this is an eyeshadow applicator, hence in times when I can't wash my other brushes, I would still have a clean one to use in case I'm in a rush, you know the drill. :P

Kabuki Kit - $56.00
The Synthetic Kabuki Kit contains four face brushes that allow a high definition, flawless makeup application. The brushes in this kit feature exclusive Sigmax fibers, uniquely designed to apply powder, cream and liquid products without absorption into the bristles.

Brushes Included:

F80 - Flat Kabuki: Application of liquid or cream products to flat areas of the face such as the forehead and cheeks.
F82 - Round Kabuki: Blend mineral products onto the skin.
F84 - Angled Kabuki: Buff cream blush or bronzer onto the skin.
F86 - Tapered Kabuki: Apply cream and liquid foundations onto the harder to reach contours of the face. (from SigmaBeauty.com)
I'm a sucker for kabuki! I love how soft my flat top synthetic kabuki f80 is so I think this is one is an exception, it's a splurge!

Face Kit - $57.00
The Face Kit contains five professional quality brushes for the face. Perfect to apply liquid, cream and powder formulas, this kit is ideal for all over face makeup application.

Brushes Included:

F30 - Large Powder: Even powder application. Uniform blending of powder products onto the face and body.
F40 - Large Angled Contour: Subtle cheek application. Use the angle to softly contour the cheekbone. Can also be used to apply blush.
F50 - Duo Fibre: Creates an airbrush effect onto the skin. Can be used with powder, liquid or cream products.
F60 - Foundation: Smooth foundation application. Apply liquid or cream products such as foundation and primer.
F70 - Concealer: Conceal small areas. Conceal the hardest to reach areas such as around the nose and eyes. (from SigmaBeauty.com)
These are the basic brushes, a newbie should have. :) So if ever I decided to go buy one at a time, after budgeting and saving, I might buy this Face Kit first.

What I love about Sigma Beauty products is that their more affordable and the quality is good. :) Plus, customers would get a Free Gift for purchases $30 or more! :D

MARY KAY Eyeshadow in Sugar Plum

My mom loves Mary Kay and she shared her love for make up with me and my sister. I remember joining events before with Mary Kay motivational speakers like Ms. Coney Reyes and  I used to have a Mary Kay standing mirror.

Before I fell in love with my SIGMA Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki F80 and my recent
Nichido Kabuki Brush

I used to love this a retractable kabuki brush from Mary Kay,
and a blush that I used up a long time ago!

Aside from those, I've got to choose one Mary Kay eyeshadow from this collection:
Photo from Everyday's Beauty Supplies

What I asked my mom to give me was now my all time favorite Mary Kay Eyeshadow and its the one in Sugar Plum! :D

I always use this eyeshadow when I want a wearable look that is not too neutral, this shade is also perfect for day time smokey eyes and can be matched with neutral or nude lips with a hint of tangerine. :D

SIGMA Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki - F80 + Review

Yay! Its my first ever Sigma! and I got it for free! I've won it on a youtube giveaway!

Thanks Ms. Kala for this very awesome gift! She's a beauty guru on youtube. Check her out! You can see Ms. Beautiefreak92's Super Exciting Giveaway by clicking here.

This is so gorgeous! I received the package from the post office.
And I fell in-love with the brush the first time I saw it, I even got a personalized letter from Sigma with my name in it!

aint that sweet?

three fold brochure included

inside the brochure
 Its so sweet!

What's more! It comes with a red satin pouch, and a handle and brush protector!

This is like a dream come true! I know I may sound cheesy and all, BUT, everyone gotta have their first times, right?

I used it since then, and now its my all-time favourite brush!

Things I Like:

  • fast shipping - i live in the Philippines and it only takes two weeks before i receive it, how fast is that?
  • durable - i tend to put extra pressure in patting my foundation to set it yet the bristles are not falling out. did i say 'even with intense pressure'?
  • perfect bristle height - the bristles are not too short that you could feel the handle dipping in your face and not too long that it bends when you put too much pressure. its just perfect!

  • very dense - the stiffness is just right as well, it concentrates on setting the product on skin, not just dabbing it on. Its fun applying foundation using this brush.
see how dense and packed it is?
  • very soft bristles - compared to other synthetic brushes, its crazy soft!
  • no skin irritation - before using this brush, I used to rely on cheap unbranded foundation brush and I started to have reddish small chicken-pox-like zits, which is called 'skin irritation'! (I know! It's a lesson learned the hard freaking way!) The brush literally scratched my face off! And that's the same reason why this brush is included to my all-time paburito (favourite)! The brush is made to buff products gently on my skin, not to plant reddish zits!
  • airbrush effect - by buffing the product correctly and consistently to the entire face and neck including the portions near the hair line, ears and neck, you could actually achieve the air brush effect, you couldn't tell where the foundation starts and ends. Flawless!
  • no smell - synthetic brushes normally smells like plastic and toxins.. But, oh goodness! It doesn't smell to me.
  • long thick handle - I'm not really a fan of kabuki brushes because they are usually short, my hands usually cramped while using it. Not to mention, its hard to get a good grip while trying to control the amount your putting on your face and at the same time, trying to reach the areas that needs extra blending. So the long thick handle is a no-brainer solution!
  • can be bought individually - makes sense to me. Why buy the whole package if I'm short in budget and needed only one piece? :D
Products I can use it for:
  • liquid foundation
  • pressed face powder
  • crème foundation
  • crème blush/bronzer
  • blush/bronzer cake
  • loose finishing powder
Things I Don't Like:
  • not locally available - can only be bought on-line
  • long time to dry - when its time to 'take a deep cleaning bath', this brush takes forever to dry! and its so inconvenient!  it took me like two to three days before its completely ready to use again.
WHAT I DO: since, I have no pride of being patient enough to wait for it to dry, I cheat! lol What I do is frequently clean it using unscented extra soft, alcohol-free wet wipes! *winks*
  • excessive use of product - because of its density, it tends to suck up the product inside its bristles so be careful in using this especially with liquid products.
WHAT I DO: to maximize the liquid products and to expand the usage of the brush before cleaning it, I usually put the exact amount of the product in the back of my hand before using the brush to pick and spread it!

Dupes:
  • Eco Tool Retractable Kabuki Brush
  • E.L.F. Studio Powder Flat Top Brush
  • Shiseido Perfect Foundation Brush

The Sigma Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki - F80 Brush is $16.00 in US, you can buy it on-line at Official Sigma Beauty Website.
