How to pull off the “no makeup” makeup look

Catriona Gray is wearing the Ever Bilena's Matte Nude Lipstick in Dolce

Looking your best natural self does not need expensive skin treatments or regular trips to the salon. The secret lies in confidence coupled with a few essential makeup products to sport the barely-there makeup look.

The country’s leading cosmetics brand, Ever Bilena, shares some useful tips and essential makeup products to keep in your makeup bag to pull off the “no makeup” makeup look:

Tip #1: Wash, rinse, moisturize

To truly achieve the all-natural makeup, forego the foundation. Instead, prep the skin by cleansing it with your preferred facial wash then exfoliate to brighten and smoothen your complexion. Finish off with a moisturizer and sunscreen so that you face is protected and fully hydrated.

Tip #2: Conceal

The trick to a healthy and fresh complexion is spot-concealing any blemishes and redness using your concealer brush. However, for dark circles, use your ring finger to pat on the concealer as it has the lightest pressure.

Tip #3: Groom the brows and lashes

One way of opening up the eyes is by grooming the brows. This way, you only need to brush up the brow hairs using a spoolie or brow mascara and you’re good to go. Add definition to the lashes by swiping it with mascara.

Tip #4: Choose shades that are close to your skin color

For bright, wide-awake eyes, apply eye shadow that’s close to your skin tone. Your safest bet is light brown. Gently apply shadow from the lash line and blend upwards, fading as it gets closer to your brow.

For cheeks, cream blush easily gives the natural-looking glow. With a synthetic brush or your fingers, apply blush on the apples of the cheeks and blend upward toward hairline. This makeup trick instantly makes you look youthful.
Tip #5: Go for Ever Bilena’s Matte Nude Lipstick

The last step to complete the barely-there makeup look is a good nude lipstick. Luckily, Ever Bilena offers a new line of matte nude lipsticks where each stick is infused with antioxidants and moisturizer so the lips feel soft, smooth and supple despite the matte formula. Retailing at P165, it comes in six colors namely Dolce, Amore, Fia, Bellissima, Caramello and Baci. Each shade is perfect for different skin tones.

Looking your best natural self is easily achievable with the help of Ever Bilena. Products are available at any Ever Bilena counters at leading supermarkets, drugstores, convenience stores and department stores nationwide. Ashley Ortega seeks adventure

Go-getter Ashley Ortega can face anything with Ever Bilena’s product

Ashley Ortega is not your typical girl-next-door. Underneath her sweet exterior lies a tough young woman who constantly seeks new horizons and new experiences. Just scroll through her Instagram account and you’ll see her riding the ocean waves on a surf board, speeding through the sand dunes on an ATV, or suspended on a cable while she zip lines on air.

The 18-year old GMA artist and newest ambassador of Ever Bilena Cosmetics, Inc. admits, “I’m very adventurous. If I don’t have work, I don’t like staying at home and doing nothing. I like outdoor physical activities, but recently, I’ve been trying contact sports like Muay Thai and boxing.”
In a way, her preference for such extreme activities can also be owed to her early years as a professional figure skater where she represented the Philippines in various competitions in Asia. “I started skating when I was four, and then I stopped when I was twelve.” But while she’s finished doing it as a competitive sport she adds, “I still like to do it for fun, with friends or as cardio exercise.”

And like a true adventure-seeker, her showbiz career was also a risk that she gamely took: “I was doing modeling and commercial gigs when someone saw me and asked me to audition in GMA,” she fondly shares. “I tried it but I didn’t expect anything at all. Luckily I got in, and they gave me a drama to work on right away.” Her starring role was Marian “Julie” Dela Guardia in GMA’s now-defunct show Cielo de Angelina, which was then followed by roles in shows like Dormitoryo, Magpakailanman, Maynila, Dangwa, and Oh, My Mama! These days, you will find her as one of the regular co-hosts of the afternoon variety show Wowowin, showing her playful and sweet side.

But Ashley has a lot more to offer. Aside from her blossoming showbiz career, she’s also an interior design student at SoFA, and a self-confessed art and make-up enthusiast who enjoys experimenting with different make-up looks just like any other girl. “I love experiencing new things, and learning to apply make-up is one of them,” she says. “It’s part of my life. I feel like I can’t be an artista without make-up.”

On most days, she carries either Ever Bilena’s or Careline’s Cheek and Lip Tint in her bag, along with Blackwater Women Activ’s So In Love body spray to keep her feeling fresh and clean all the time. She shares, “I like that Ever Bilena, Careline and Blackwater offer dual-purpose, long-lasting products that I can always apply while working out or during tapings.” And just like her, she also recommends other girls to keep these products in their kits. “We should take care of our appearance, and maintaining a good hygiene is one of them. These products will not only help us feel fresh and clean but they’re also confidence boosters,” she advises.

With all that’s going on in her life, she says she still has more challenges to conquer. “I want something different – I want to play a superhero because I want to do action, or an ice princess so I can skate.”

Adventurous, fun, and girly – Ashley Ortega is indeed everything Ever Bilena, Careline, and Blackwater represent.

Empties: April to June 2014

My empties could have been a monthly post as intended but life got me busy it made my bag unorganized and empties unposted.

Bag, schedule, life. One word. Mess. And I like it!  #optimist #bringiton All Inclusive by Judy Astley will keep me company.

Of course, I wanna get on track and move on, cleaning my vanity by emptying products that lives there like forever is a good detoxifying habit! :)

Taya Beauty Amazon White Clay Thickening Conditioner - more of this here.

Pond's Anti-Bacterial Facial Scrub with Herbal Clay - I love the smell and it's refreshing after wash feel. Does the job well too.

Block & White Natural Pearl - that I used as a hand cream. It has UV protection and whitens skin at the same time.

Splash Hair Polish Hairdressing cream - finally, I'm ready to get my hands on my other

Taya Beauty goodies.

Anew Vitalizing Cream - again. It did break me out so I just used this as a makeup remover mostly. The sale tag kept me buying this, I always give in! Temptation, temptation! lol

L'Oreal Youth Code - Alas! This is a bittersweet goodbye. Why empty out on me? Why now that I'm used on using your dropper? (I tilt the jar as I'm typing this, hoping to get the last juicy drop! I did! And oh it smells a-mazing still!) Well, maybe because it done its part. I think I'll be saying hi to another bottle of Youth Code AFTER I finish all of my serums in my stash.

Ever Bilena BB Cream in Oriental shade - I used my Too Cool for School BB Cream as highlight with this as contour. Great match! But I think it would be awhile if ever I decided to try this out again. I'm now on my first bottle of Revlon Colorstay liquid foundation in 360 Golden Caramel which I cannot see on Revlon's kiosk at SM Aura! Boo! [but not really, if you know what I mean? ;) ]

Johnson's Baby Lotion in Milk - do I have to say more?

Johnson's Baby Lotion in Pink - classic.

Myra-E Shine-Free Face Powder in Light - Packed with Vitamin E with SPF 15 and hypoallergenic!

ELF Two-Way Cake Foundation - has SPF 15 but seriously, the packaging needs an upgrade it looks cheaper than other cheaper local two-way cake foundation out there!

Slimmers World Gentaflou cream - perfect for just got burned facial warts and zits. :)

Maybelline Hypercurl Volume Express Waterproof Mascara - 2nd tube. I think I'll skip using mascaras for now, since I'm using Lavish Lashes for the second time around. I decided to give this a try again despite of my not-so-good first time try. Talk about SECOND CHANCES! Ha! (If we are as close as lovers are, you'll laugh so hard you could skip your crunches!)

Sebamed Liquid Face & Body Wash - this is one in my list of snatch-from-the-cradle products! Sorry Clyde! :P

Yves Rocher UVBeauty Shield - SPF50, PA++, lightweight. Does the job like a Mafia boss.

Celeteque Tri-Benefit Power Cream - first off, thank you so much BDJ Box and BDJ Power Planner for these cute samples. Now on my last sample tub and ready to buy the regular size. (Looking for my BDJ Lifestyle card! :P)

Hygienix Hand Sanitizer - this is a bag resident. Keeps you your hand clean. Door knob clean. Toilet bowl clean. Just clean. and smells wonderful too.

Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Scar Serum - I use this on my pregnancy tiger stripes and heart surgery scar. It does lightens the area and tightens the skin as well. It also reminds me of Willy Wonka and his Chocolate Factory.

That's it! Let's wish more products to go so that more will come! Haha! Love all, trust a few and do bad to no one because you sure will reap what you sow!

P.S. Karma will get you where it hurts the most. ;)
