Kenjitsu Energy Cooker

Do you remember my Inex post. One of our Inex Technology appliance is the Kenjitsu Energy Cooker. And yes, we now  have two units of this recent kitchen appliance star!
A kitchen is not up-to-date or wouldn't be called modern  if its not donning an induction cooker! Since we only have gas stove as a staple way to cook , an electric stove that we rarely use because of high consumption of electricity (and we still practice cooking-with-woods/charcoal in the province), we drooled ourselves (mom, my sister Beth-who loves to cook - and I) on this!
touchscreened buttons and fireless cooking plate
touch screen buttons and fireless cooking plate
Works on 220-240 Volts or 50/60 Hertz, this Kenjitsu Energy Cooker is almost Php60,000.00 on the price tag! But is it worth it? The thumbs ups:
  • as seen on its packaging and instruction manual, this energy cooker is safe against hot surface blisters, scalds and burns making cooking with kids a safer quality time
  • safe against leaking gas poison and the possibility of gas tank explosion (morbid but true)
  • futuristic - with NANO High Technology Multi-Functional Induction & Halogen Cooker, touch screen seamless buttons and sleek Vitroceramic black cooktop glass surface finish
  • timer - allows you to dovetail (multi-tasking): be it washing the dishes or sleeping, the timer will save you from burning the casserole (just make sure, your timer is right)
  • portable - one single burner is travel friendly. perfect for outdoor hotpot and out-of-town vacay. Just make sure you're staying in an area well electricity is not a problem
  • perfect cooking- by-the-book partner - temperature can be adjusted by degree
  • low electric consumption - compared to other electric burner, induction cookers use less energy while cooking faster
The not-so-good:
  • Magnetic cookware or no cooking at all! - yep, the magic only works for steel and iron pot. If you collect stainless steel/cast iron pots and pans then no problemo, but if you're not, time to spring clean the kitchen and shop for new cookeries!
  • The Price is not so nice - as stated on my previous post, one was won as a price and one was taken out of the credit card worth Php60,000.00 inclusive of free items, but the actual price of a new Kenjitsu Energy Cooker is Php56,900.00
  • No money, no honey - if you didn't pay the bills - okay, scratch that, if blackouts, brownouts, power failure, whatever happen to you, then no food tonight! Unless you have a generator and an extra if the first generator got issues too
  • higher electricity bill - it consumes lesser electric energy compared to ordinary electric stove so if you are currently using the electric stove it is a thumbs up, but if you are upgrading from gas stove to induction cooker, then this kitchen appliance will be added on top of your monthly electric consumption bill (unless you invent yourself a mechanical device - a stay in place bike connected to a generator with extension cord plugs - that'll burn your fats while excreting electricity)
By count, you could shrug off the cons and run your butt out and buy a new induction cooker, but believe me, if you can't afford to spare another buck to pay your Meralco bill and a generator hasn't got a place in your garage yet, think twice. If you really can't help yourself falling in love with this device because your futuristic, tech savvy and loves to cook, then go!But take this advice: never let go of your gas stove, you may play with induction cooker when times are great but the gas stove -its your friend when in need. *put strong winds and heavy rains in the dark here*

Nevertheless, we are enjoying the package we won and the package we bought. We now have our very own home oxygenated water, two massage chairs, etc. :) Happy costumers as we could be, I had a confession to make --- I bought another Inex package worth Php60,000.00 00! OMG double HKP! i'll be posting about what I've got soon!

Makeup Little Tips and Tricks

If you are as busy as a bee, and don't have extra time for vanity and glamour, then these little secrets will help you save time and still look and feel fab!

#Smelling good gives an impression of cleanliness and studies shows that it tends to make people respect you.

How to Have Longer Lasting Scent: Match your lotion with perfume! Scented spray layered with similar scented lotion will keep you fragrant all day long (the first thing that comes in my mind is the Avon matching lotion, body talc, deo and body spray). Don't forget to put your fragrance perfume on a travel size container so you could spray on anytime anywhere!

*Check out Travalo (one item on my travel wishlist) for a fun way to make your perfume travel-friendly! But if you are looking for a more cheaper way to smell good all the time, then Watson's travel size bottle pumps should be your friends!

pumps
These are my cutie patootie travel bottles and pumps. Especially important if you will travel by air because only small  bottles are allowed on the plane! :) perfect for lotion, moisturizer, perfume and hand sanitizer! :)

#Oilyness is next to ugliness!

How to Stay Oil-Free: After applying foundation, dust loose powder on your t-zone area (forehead, nose and chin) for added staying power and shine-free makeup, don't forget to put blotting papers on your purse for touch up

*Check out my kawaii blotting paper bought from Market! Market! department store beauty section!

gerilen

For a cheaper blotting paper, you could use  Starbucks tissues or any hard-like-paper tissue, cut them to your desired shape (rectangular or circular, go do hearts if your artistic enough lol) then keep them in your already-empty pressed powder compact (I prefer to store mine in a compacted mirror just for good measure!), will post about that soon so stay tuned!

Got inspired? Before you go gaga and go loco over Firmoo, you should have a guideline on

Choosing Your Sunglasses According to the Shape of Your Face

  • Oblong face - this means you have a narrow face - length is more than width or your nose is long and you have a tall forehead.
    • What to wear: Tall broad frames to create shorter face and add width on your jaw

  • Heart shaped - wide forehead and prominent cheekbones with small chin
    • What to wear: Round frames to soften forehead and frames that are wide at top like butterfly or cat eye frames
  • Round face - you have full cheeks, soft curves, few face angles, and a small rounded chin
    • What to wear: Square frames with wide horizontal styles to help sharpen edges and add definitions on the face

  • Square face - have balance, it means length face is proportional to width; from wide forehead to strong prominent jaw line and square chin
    • What to wear: Look for round or oval glasses or butterfly frames to softened the angles

  • Oval shaped - is a combination on heart and round, you have narrow forehead and jawline or chin is narrower than forehead but with high cheeckbones. Oval is the best shape of all when it comes to glasses because almost all frames will work for you except too large frames
    • What to wear: Square and rectangular shapes will give an illusion of angles while softening the curves of your face
What shape are you? Comment down below! Thank goodness I have a heart shape! I love wearing cat eye and butterfly frames myself!

Stiefel Oilatum

"Seal Babies' Skin with Moisture from Oilatum Emollient Bar"
Got several sample bars from different events that I've attended like BDJ Box (#so glad I've passed the moisturized skin test on their booth) and Mommy Mundo's MOTF, and I must say, my baby's skin is soft and smooth! :)
- gently cleanses without drying
 - moisturizes and protects
-suitable for children & infants

oilatumThis bar of moisturizing soap is not a stranger to me. My mom used to use this with us when we were little to avoid that rough dry skin that commercial bars usually has plus, we (my siblings and I) are prone to eczema, it is also the reason why I itch fast when using drying soap.
Bath emollients are widely prescribed by doctors to treat eczema. They are formulated to work with water to rehydrate and moisturise the skin. The water penetrates the skin and is then sealed in by the emollient, which creates a protective barrier. A bath emollient is convenient to use, and is the ideal choice for all-over dry skin treatment. Oilatum disperses in the bath water (unlike ordinary bath oils which can form a film on the surface) to give you an inviting, milky bath. It rehydrates the skin, helps protect against further drying, and soothes irritation. It also cleanses the skin, so you do not need to use soap.
This bar is kinda slippery and bubbles fast, with a pH of almost 7, whilst negative ions from the foams attract the positive ions of oil and dirt, it wouldn't irritate the skin.  (ha! I remember my good old engineering chemistry 2 at night - the fun laboratory ans all :D *insert inside joke here) Back on the topic,  it wouldn't irritate the skin, it actually gives the skin a moisturized finish as explained above. I had been on the search for additional bath goodies for my babe and after having this with J&J milk bath, I could say that it didn't fail me, and it actually satisfied me (as a mom) more than I could hope for that I decided to just consume the rest of J&J and stick with this new-found bath love plus Physiogel cleanser. And if this is oh-so-good with my babe's sensitive skin then it would not hurt, if mom's skin would (taste and feel) benefit from it too! :D the result in the long run is like reaping an investment for the future self, it is well worth it :)
I have more stiefel products to try to and share like the cleanser and moisturizer but for now check out Stiefel Spectraban 60 - a really high-end sun screen!

CHIC Synthetic Kabuki Set

Bought 3 sets of Chic Cosmetics 5piece kabuki brush set a looooong time ago! One for me, one for my unica sister and one for our reader... #hint
The brushes comes with a black sack pouch and bubble wrap. Each brushes have a plastic guard that is (super) intact its hard to remove (so carefully push the brush out if you want to keep the brush guard, otherwise, tugging it might tear the sides).
chic
I decided to put spongebob stickies on my set, just to avoid confusion with my sister's set or better yet, to personalized my babies! :P
For the fun of it, this is the clearer 5-pc set looks like...
This set includes:
Flat Kabuki Brush --- Ideal for applying liquid or cream products to the face. It can also be used to apply your face primers.
Round Kabuki-- Ideal for applying mineral or liquid foundation especially onto round areas of the face (under the eyes, around the nose, around the mouth, neck area)
Angled Kabuki-- It can be used for buffing cream blush or for highlighting and contouring .
Tapered Kabuki--Perfect for applying cream and liquid foundations onto the harder to reach contours of the face. This brush can also be used for contouring defined areas of the face.
Flat Angled Kabuki-- This brush works very well in applying product to the cheekbones and the nose area.
(from Chic Cosmetics)
Here are the photos I took using my spongebobbed-kabukis!

Almost of the same height (just 2-3mm difference in height),

please forgive the dirty Sigma brush :P
hair brush texture/feel is also the same, although when squeeze gently, F80 is more dense,

and same jumbo handles.
So far, I think Chic Cosmetic brushes are the dupes of Sigma brushes in the Philippines!
Have you tried any of Chic Cosmetics kabuki yet?
Are you ready for a giveaway? :)
